MTG Looking To Censure Rashida Tlaib For Antisemitism

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has introduce a censure resolution against Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.

She’s accused the progressive member of the “Squad” in the House of “antisemitic activity” as well as “sympathizing with terrorist organizations.”

Speaking with Fox News Digital this week, MTG explained:

“The [Democratic] Party has done nothing to hold her accountable. They’ve done nothing to rein her in, and no one else here has done it. And so I thought it was right to list examples of – this isn’t just new. This isn’t a one-off thing. This is exactly who she is.”

Greene has accused the Michigan representative of leading a Capitol Hill protest that was pro-Palestinian. During the protest, hundreds of people who attended called for a stop to the fighting in the Middle East following Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel back on October 7.

Hamas is recognized as an official terror organization by the U.S. government. During its attack, thousands of people were killed, including hundreds of civilians, and many hostages were taken, too.

Israel has responded with direct attacks of its own, which have left thousands of people dead as well. Those military efforts are still ongoing.

During the protest, Tlaib spoke, with the activists filling up the ground floor at the Cannon House Office Building.

As part of her comments, Tlaib laid blame on Israel for a Gaza hospital bombing. Even after various intelligence agencies released information that evidence indicates that the explosion actually came from a Hamas rocket that misfired, Tlaib wouldn’t back off her comments.

In the censure resolution she brought against Tlaib, MTG said the protest amounted to “an insurrection.”

She further referenced the fact that Tlaib endorsed a slogan that’s been used by both Hamas as well as the Palestine Liberation Organization. She also brought up past comments that Tlaib made saying Israel is “an apartheid government.”

Tlaib is herself a Palestinian-American.

Fox News Digital asked Greene what she thought the feedback among GOP members of the House would be for her censure resolution. She responded:

“I think we will have every single Republican vote with us for this central resolution.”

And as for liberals: “It would be shocking to me if they didn’t vote for it.”

There are some liberals who appear to support it, too. Florida Representative Jared Moskowitz, for example, said recently:

“I think once we get a House Speaker here, I think that censure resolution will come to the floor, and I do think it’s something everyone should consider.”

In addition to bringing forth the censure resolution, Greene has said that the multiple committees in the House should investigate the protest that was seemingly led by Tlaib.

As she explained:

“It should [have] a House Ethics investigation. [The House Administration Committee] should be investigating it. I think the Department of Justice, FBI should be investigating, even possibly the CIA.”

Members of Tlaib’s staff didn’t immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for a comment when it was sent on Monday night.
