White House Leaves Out Important Detail

(PatrioticPost.com)- During last Wednesday’s White House press briefing, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby struggled to defend President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents while being questioned by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy.

Doocy asked Kirby what the proper procedure was if someone either accidentally or intentionally removes classified documents from a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility).

Kirby said the individual should “self-report,” adding that this is what President Biden had done.

Kirby added that those who self-report must also make sure the documents are returned to where they belong “and you’re transparent about it.”

Kirby failed to mention that President Biden didn’t “self-report” until more than six years after taking the classified documents.

On January 20, the FBI conducted a “consensual search” of the president’s Wilmington home where they found additional boxes containing classified documents dating back to Biden’s time in the US Senate as well as his time as vice president.

In addition to the documents with classified markings, the FBI agents also took possession of handwritten notes written by Biden “for further review,” Biden’s lawyer Bob Bauer said in a statement last week.

This week, CBS News reported that in mid-November, the FBI also searched the Penn Biden Center in Washington after Biden’s lawyers discovered classified documents on November 2.

Sources told CBS News that the mid-November search was consensual and no search warrant was sought. Whether the search turned up any additional classified documents is unclear, however.

In a statement on January 14, Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer said nothing about the FBI’s search of the Penn Biden Center. Instead, he only said that authorities were conducting an “inquiry” into the documents found at the Penn Biden Center, “including taking possession of any documents and reviewing any surrounding material for further review and context.”

In total, between 25 and 30 classified documents have been found since November 2, 2022.

A source familiar with the ongoing investigation told CBS News last week that DOJ officials are considering conducting additional consensual searches “at locations linked to Mr. Biden.”
