Chris Wallace Says Republicans Made Biden Look Good

( CNN anchor Chris Wallace said that Republicans made President Biden look good during his State of the Union address before a joint session in Congress on February 7, according to Mediaite. He said that Republicans “literally played into his hands.”

The address was loud, as Republicans let their voices be heard when they found that something disagreeable was said. At one point, Biden claimed that Republicans wanted to cut Social Security and Medicare, just to be met with boos and shouts that he was a “liar.”

There was also plenty of laughter. When discussing his conversation with oil executives, Biden said that the United States was going to need oil for the next decade. GOP members found the comment funny as the president has proclaimed his intent to move the country away from oil to pursue his climate change agenda.

Responding to the address, Wallace called it “perfect,” saying that Republicans made the president look good. He suggests that their boos during the Social Security claim meant that Biden could ask them all to stand up for seniors.

“They were standing up while he said, let’s all agree not to cut social security, let’s all agree not to cut Medicare,” Wallace said. “It was a brilliant moment…It was really quite a piece of political showmanship.”

Since moving to CNN, the ratings of former Fox News host Chris Wallace are falling through the floor. His prime-time show, “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” which began in the spring of 2022, saw its worst ratings since its launch, according to The Washington Examiner.

The network is also reportedly ranked behind both Fox News and MSNBC, leaving Warner Bros. Discovery to enact sweeping changes to the network in the hopes of turning the ship around, especially after the failed CNN+ streaming service was shut down after just less than a month of operation.
