Over the last several years following the aftermath of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the United States and the international community at large has been engulfed in turmoil and chaos. Inflation has crippled the economies and the middle class of many countries. Foreign adversaries of the western world have become emboldened and acted in an increasingly aggressive fashion on the world stage. Russia invaded the nation of Ukraine in eastern Europe in early 2022, and over half a million casualties are estimated to have occurred since the commencement of hostilities. China has remained threatening in the Pacific, and in early October, the terrorist group Hamas invaded Israel and murdered 1,000 innocent civilians.
In the aftermath of the attacks, there have been many allegations that the nation of Iran may have been involved or associated with the Muslim terrorist group known as Hamas. Republican politicians in federal politics have cited President Joe Bidens incompetent leadership on the international stage. Biden bypassed congressional authority and made a deal with Tehran by giving the nation $6 billion in a prisoner exchange. This deal was signed off in early September, the day before the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
In response, the Republican Senator from Kansas Roger Marshall introduced legislation on Tuesday that proposes to rescind the waiver given by Biden which permits the return of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds. Initially reported by the Daily Caller, Marshall stated that following the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Hamas and over 1,400 Israeli deaths, Congress must revoke the waiver. It is quite saddening that on the anniversary or one of the most tragic days in American history the sitting president decided to negotiate with terrorists. Marshall openly states his dissatisfaction with president Bidens performance as president and called him weak. Marshall continued to assert that Iran was involved in the terrorist attack against Israel- the nation has claimed it has no association with Hamas.
