Biden Releases Tax Records, Paid $150,000 in Taxes in 2023

On Monday, the United States tax filing deadline, the White House made public the joint tax return of President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, which revealed that the couple earned $619,976 in 2023.

Vice President Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff earned $450,299 last year, according to the White House’s publication of their tax returns.

Harris and Emhoff paid a federal income tax of $88,570, or 19.7 percent of their income, in 2023. The DC Central Kitchen, Howard University, and the University of Southern California were among the recipients of the couple’s $23,026 in charitable contributions in 2023.

After selling a home in 2021, Harris and Emhoff claimed an income of $1.6 million, followed by $456,918 in 2022.

Most of Biden’s wealth was generated by President Biden’s $400,000 salary and pensions, which Congress required. The first lady’s teaching job at Northern Virginia Community College also brought in $85,985.

With a federal income tax payment of $146,629 in 2023, the Bidens’ tax rate was 23.7%. In 2023, they gave $20,477 to 17 different organizations. A Wilmington fire station, St. Joseph on the Brandywine, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Beau Biden Foundation—named after the president’s late son—received lesser donations, while $5,000 went to the foundation’s efforts to prevent child abuse.

After earning $579,514 in 2022, the Bidens’ income rose in 2023. In 2020, their reported income was $607,336; in 2021, it was $610,702.

The Biden family is a regular fixture at that church, and it also serves as the last resting place for Beau Biden, the president’s first wife and baby daughter who perished in a vehicle accident in 1972, as well as Neilia and Naomi Biden.

After reviving the practice of the first family revealing their tax returns in 2021, the present first couple resumed the practice in 2022.

Since Trump chose not to disclose his tax returns publicly while in office, the release may be an attempt to distinguish the two presidential candidates.

At the close of 2022, the House Ways and Means Committee made public six years’ worth of tax returns filed by Trump, including those during his presidency.
