(PatrioticPost.com)- Mexican authorities were seen this week attempting to prevent migrants from crossing illegally into the United States in an unusual turn of events. The officials wearing bright orange vests were seen in video footage pursuing, tackling, and capturing migrants attempting to cross the Rio Grande River into Texas.
On Monday, a news correspondent tweeted that it was the first time he observed Mexican authorities physically remove from or stop migrants from entering the Rio Grande.
The unusual encounter happened days after a Texas National Guardsman drowned while attempting to save two migrants in the same river. Bishop Evans, a 22-year-old guardsman from Arlington, Texas, was found three days later. According to the Texas Rangers, the two migrants Evans attempted to help were suspected drug traffickers. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki callously disputed that the Biden administration was to blame for Evans’ death on the same day his body was discovered.
Following the discovery of Evans’ body, Republican U.S. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy led a party of nine House Republicans to the Rio Grande River to talk with the Texas National Guard and Border Patrol.
McCarthy was accompanied by three Representatives from Texas; Chip Roy, Tony Gonzales, and Randy Weber.
Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia, Diana Harshbarger of Tennessee, Gary Palmer of Alabama, Blake Moore of Utah, Michael Guest of Mississippi, and Elise Stefanik from New York.
Texas’ Republican Governor Greg Abbott ordered flags lowered to half-staff in honor of Bishop Evans on Monday. He declared his heroism would never be forgotten.
On the same day, a federal judge barred the Biden administration from ending Title 42, A border policy enacted by the Trump administration to curb the COVID-19 spread across the US-Mexico border. The judge’s decision came a week after 26 Republican governors announced the American Governors’ Border Strike Force plan to seize control of the border problem.
March set a record for the highest number of illegal border crossings in over 20 years. Among those apprehended were nearly two dozen individuals on the FBI’s Terrorist Database.
