UK Prime Minister in Intensive Care After Coronavirus Symptoms Worsen

(PatrioticPost.Com)- Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, was diagnosed with the Chinese coronavirus in March. Since then he has continued running the British government and updating people about his status via Twitter.

However, over the weekend the Conservative Prime Minister was moved to St Thomas’ Hospital in London after his symptoms refused to go away. On Monday, it was announced that Johnson had been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital as his condition continued to get worse.

“Since Sunday evening, the Prime Minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus,” an official statement read.

“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.”

Johnson announced that he was first taken to hospital on Sunday night, initially for “routine tests” as a result of his continued coronavirus symptoms.

“I’m in good spirits and keeping in touch with my team, as we work together to fight this virus and keep everyone safe,” he said.

The Queen has been kept updated about the health of Johnson, according to Buckingham Palace.

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has stepped up to provide support for Johnson, taking on many roles of the Prime Minister and keeping Johnson informed about progress. Raab addressed the media on Monday night for the first time after Johnson was taken into ICU.

“The Prime Minister is in safe hands with the brilliant team at St Thomas’ hospital, and the focus of the Government will continue to be on making sure that the Prime Minister’s direction, all the plans for making sure that we can defeat coronavirus and can pull the country through this challenge, will be taken forward,” Raab said.
