(PatrioticPost.com)- Last week, the New York Times published two separate explosive reports revealing that the United States has been providing real-time battlefield intelligence to Ukrainian forces that allowed them to kill as many as a dozen Russian generals as well as destroy the flagship of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, the Moskva.
The reports, which rely on anonymous senior officials, reveal a surprising level of direct US involvement in a war we’re not supposed to be fighting.
According to the first report published on Wednesday, intelligence supplied by the US, including Russian troop movements based on US intel assessments of Moscow’s battle plan in the eastern region of Donbas, enabled Ukraine forces to locate and target Russia’s senior ranks.
After Wednesday’s report, Biden administration officials disputed the New York Times’ claim that the US provided intel to target and kill Russian officers.
Adrienne Watson, a spokeswoman for the National Security Council, said in a statement that the battlefield intelligence from the United States was not provided to the Ukrainians “with the intent to kill Russian generals.”
On Thursday, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby disputed the Times’ claim, saying the United States didn’t provide intel “on the location of senior military leaders” nor was the United States involved with the “targeting decisions” made by the Ukrainian military.
Did you notice that neither denies that the United States has been providing Ukraine with tactical intelligence?
In its second report published on Thursday, the New York Times revealed that the US provided intelligence to Ukrainian forces to help them locate and attack the Russian flagship Moskva which was destroyed in a drone strike on April 13.
In its reporting, the Times acknowledges that the Biden administration has tried to keep its intelligence sharing secret out of fear that Moscow would view it as an escalation and provoke Russian President Vladimir Putin “into a wider war.”
That’s because it is an escalation.
Given reports that Moscow’s escalation in the Donbas region and in southern Ukraine was prompted by the sinking of the Moskva, it is likely the New York Times report will have ripple effects that will be felt all the way to the Kremlin.
At this point, it’s beginning to look like the Biden administration is trying to start a hot war with a nuclear power.
