Striking Terror at the Core

A precision strike by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in Syria resulted in the deaths of 37 terrorists, including senior leaders from ISIS and Hurras al-Din. Based on precise intelligence, the operation targeted a crucial facility used for training and strategic planning. The intended goal was to dismantle the infrastructure supporting terrorist activities and to protect U.S. interests and allies from future threats.

And we achieved that goal.

The strikes are part of CENTCOM’s efforts to disrupt terrorist activities against civilians and military personnel. The successful operation emphasized CENTCOM’s commitment to defeating terrorist organizations and supporting regional stability, with no reported civilian casualties.

Eliminating Key Figures

On September 24, a strike in northwest Syria resulted in the deaths of nine operatives, including Marwan Bassam ‘Abd-al-Ra’uf, a senior Hurras al-Din leader. Hurras al-Din, an Al Qaeda-affiliated organization, has global attack aspirations, making their leadership prime targets for U.S. counterterrorism operations. A strike a month earlier took down another senior Hurras al-Din leader, Abu-‘Abd al-Rahman al Makki, underscoring the continuous efforts to cripple these networks.

“These strikes against leadership and operatives of ISIS and the Al Qaeda affiliate, Hurras al-Din, represent CENTCOM’s commitment to the enduring defeat of terrorist organizations in the CENTCOM area of responsibility and our support to regional stability,” said Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander, U.S. Central Command.

Long-term Impact and Strategy

On September 16, a large-scale airstrike on an ISIS training camp in central Syria killed at least 28 operatives, four of whom were senior leaders. The primary focus is to disrupt ISIS’ operational capabilities and to prevent planned attacks against U.S. interests and allies. Intelligence gathered pre-strike pinpointed the facilities as key nodes in the terrorist network.

“The airstrike will disrupt ISIS’ capability to conduct operations against US interests, as well as our allies and partners,” the statement read.

With an estimated 900 U.S. forces in Syria, along with an undisclosed number of contractors, American presence remains potent, primarily focused on preventing the resurgence of extremist groups like ISIS. U.S. forces operate in coordination with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, providing critical support in northeastern Syria, a region rife with terrorist activity and strategic significance.

You just know that President Biden would take a huge victory lap on this…well, he might if he actually knew what was going on.
