(PatrioticPost.com)- Just days after President Donald Trump confirmed rumors that he was willing to reinstate some World Health Organization funding, he has issued a public letter to the organization telling them that it is imperative for them to reform or risk losing the membership and funding of the United States. The letter, which was sent late on Monday, said that if the organization does not implement “major” changes within the next 30 days, it could lose the support of the United States.
In the letter, President Trump listed many of the organization’s failures in the management of this pandemic. After listing them, Trump says, “Perhaps worse than all these failings is that we know that the World Health Organization could have done so much better.”
“Just a few years ago, under the direction of a different Director-General, the World Health Organization showed the world how much it has to offer,” it continued.
That’s gotta hurt.
The letter tells WHO leaders that the “repeated missteps” made by the organization have been “extremely costly for the world” and that the only way it can continue serving its intended purpose is to “demonstrate independence from China.”
One the same day that the letter was issued, Chinese dictator Xi Jin Ping gave one of the very first speeches from world leaders at the annual WHO conference. The conference was held online this year, but still gave a platform for the authoritarian Chinese leader to lie to the world about how China responded to the virus.
“My administration has already started discussions with you on how to reform the organization,” Trump’s letter continued. “But action is needed quickly. We do not have time to waste. That is why it is my duty, as President of the United States, to inform you that, if the World Health Organization does not commit major substantive improvements within the next 20 days, I will make my temporary freeze of United States funding to the World Health Organization permanent and reconsider our membership in the organization.”
Trump said that he cannot allow taxpayer dollars to be spent on an organization that doesn’t serve America’s interests.
Given the strict deadline, the WHO will need to act soon and effectively means the group must choose between the free world and communists. If the WHO starts working in America’s interests, China will likely respond…but we’re yet to see how.
