Trump Leads Everyone Else By 50% In 2024 Straw Poll

( During this past weekend’s Turning Point USA action summit, former President Donald Trump won the straw poll of potential 2024 candidates, easily defeating the other six potential candidates.

The young activists overwhelming chose Trump, handing him 78.7 percent of the straw poll vote.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis landed in a distant second place with 19 percent.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem was in third place with only 1 percent.

None of the other four potential candidates cracked one percent. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo came in fourth with 0.5 percent of the vote. Senator Ted Cruz, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Ambassador Nikki Haley all tied for fifth place with 0.3 percent

The straw poll results were a foregone conclusion as Turning Point USA remains fully behind former President Trump.

The former president addressed the summit Saturday where, in addition to complaining about the 2020 election, he once again dropped hints about a possible return in 2024.

Trump told the crowd that if he announced that he wasn’t going to run for office again, the witch hunt against him “would immediately stop.” But since that is what the Democrats want him to do, Trump said, “there’s no chance I do that.”

Summit attendees were also surveyed about which Democrat they think would be the biggest challenge for a Republican nominee to beat in 2024. Nearly 30 percent named California Governor Gavin Newsom. About 14 percent suggested former First Lady Michelle Obama would be the biggest challenge.

Senator Bernie Sanders and former 2016 nominee Hillary Clinton tied for third place at 10 percent, followed by Vice President Kamala Harris at 8 percent and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at 6 percent.
