Star Hospitalized Suddenly For Mysterious Heart Condition

(PatrioticPost.com)- Former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Nicholas Brendon was hospitalized earlier this month after what is described as “a cardiac incident” related to an ongoing spinal condition.

According to his sister, the 51-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment and was “focusing on medical appointments.”

His sister described the “cardiac incident” as tachycardia/arrhythmia.

Brendon suffered a similar incident last year after undergoing spinal surgery for Cauda Equina syndrome.

The “Buffy” actor has been suffering from Cauda Equina syndrome where the nerve roots in the lumbar spine are compressed, cutting off the movement, feeling, and often the function of the genitals, bladder, and bowel.

According to his sister, in the week and a half after being rushed to the hospital, Brendon’s condition “turned drastically worse.” She said he is experiencing “paralysis in his genitals and private parts” and has had “difficulties with flying.” It is expected Brendon will need surgery.

Last August, Brendon was arrested for using a fake ID to obtain prescription drugs in Indiana. He was charged with prescription fraud of a controlled substance and refusing to identify himself to police.

Brendon, who also starred in “Criminal Minds,” played Buffy’s pal Xander Harris on the cult classic “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” which ran for seven seasons in the late 1990s/early 2000s.
