Report Finds ZERO Evidence of Russian Interference In Brexit Vote

(PatrioticPost.com)- The British have been experiencing their own Russian hoax for years now, too. Just as the Democrats theorized that President Donald Trump’s victory was only possible because of mythical Russian interference, Labour Party and Liberal Democrat politicians in the United Kingdom have long claimed that the 2016 Brexit vote only occurred as a result of Russian meddling.

A new report, however, has completely proven that theory wrong. Just like the FBI investigation proved the Russiagate conspiracy theory to be fake too.

According to the Independent Security Committee, there is “no evidence” that the Russians interfered with the 2016 Brexit referendum, meaning the result came about simply because the British people wanted to leave the European Union. The report did, however, criticize the British government for not tasking intelligence agencies to look at the claims earlier. They suggested that Boris Johnson’s Conservative government should go about performing yet another investigation into the conspiracy theory, but Johnson has denied that his government did anything wrong.

The Independent Security Committee that is responsible for overring the British intelligence community published its most recent report on Russian meddling in British democracy. It looked at a wide range of issues and explored how Russian agents do engage in British issues, but that it is yet to influence British politics directly.

“HMG [Her Majesty’s Government] had not seen or sought evidence of successful interference in UK democratic processes or any activity that has had a material impact on an election, for example influencing results,” the report reads.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued an official response to the report, rejecting the idea that his cabinet was blind to the problem of Russian interference.

“The Government has long recognised there is an enduring and significant threat posed by Russia to the UK and its allies, including conventional military capabilities, disinformation, illicit finance, influence operations, and cyber-attacks,” the response reads.

The report puts to bed the idea that Brexit was anything other than the will of the people, but just as the Democrats continue to do in the United States, anti-Brexit politicians are likely to continue repeating the lie.

Boris Johnson’s government confirmed that they saw “no evidence of successful interference in the EU Referendum” and therefore will keep further assessments “under review” and update the ISC with new intelligence where necessary.

“Given this long standing approach, a retrospective assessment of the EU Referendum is not necessary,” the response continued.
