Vice President Harris welcomed Alex Soros, the successor to George Soros, to her private residence earlier this year, alongside several notable Democratic supporters, according to recently released White House visitor records.
Prominent American billionaire George Soros, renowned for supporting progressive and liberal initiatives both domestically and internationally, has entrusted the management of his substantial assets to his son, Alexander Soros.
In a detailed conversation with The Wall Street Journal released on June 11, it was disclosed that George, at 92, passed on the chairmanship of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) board to Alex last December. OSF oversees a significant segment of the Soros legacy, especially its multi-billion-dollar philanthropic endeavors, which conservative circles have often criticized.
The details made available last week from the White House show that Alex Soros visited Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence, indicated in the logs as “1st Floor VPR,” on May 31, 2023. With him were supermodel Savannah Huitema and seven other leading Democratic contributors.
On June 6, Soros shared an image with Harris on X, the platform once called Twitter, highlighting their meeting. The location and timing of their interaction were not previously disclosed.
The Washington Free Beacon’s assessment reveals that this encounter was the 21st instance of Soros meeting President Biden’s team members.
“Great to see Vice President Kamala Harris again!” was Soros’s caption for the photo. The records reveal that Soros and his fellow visitors entered the residence at 4 p.m., staying until midnight.
The initial reveal of the meeting by Soros earlier in the year drew the notice of several conservative media personalities and a U.S. senator.
Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., commented, “It’s intriguing how some argue that the Soros lineage doesn’t wield political sway.” Political strategist Logan Dobson inquired, “Is it now acceptable to discuss the prominent role the Soros family plays in Democratic politics?”
Alex Soros frequently engages with Democratic representatives, something he often showcases on his social media accounts. His Instagram contains numerous photos of high-ranking Democrats from the House and the Senate between 2018 and 2022.
Shortly after he visited Harris, Soros publicly announced that he would oversee the Open Society Foundations, a philanthropic endeavor founded by his father. Alex Soros is often seen as holding more progressive views than his father.
