(PatrioticPost.com)- Republican Kentucky Senator Rand Paul made his views on the attempted takedown of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn very clear this week when he launched into an attack on former President Barack Obama. Paul explained how he “strongly believes” that former President Obama not only gave direct oversight of the attempt set up of Flynn, but also gave permission and was responsible for the entire operation.
“Do you think that it is right to let the American people know who decided to unmask General Flynn from those phone call transcripts,” Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum asked Paul.
“Absolutely,” he responded, “and I don’t believe any of this could have happened without President Obama. I completely believe that not only did he know, and others have already said that he knew about the conversation, he knew about trying to go after General Flynn and that it was being directed from the White House. So I have every expectation that President Obama is in the middle of this.”
President Barack Obama was revealed to have had a meeting with the former FBI Director James Comey and other administration officials just days before the inauguration of President Trump. Court documents revealed how Obama knew about the investigation into General Flynn, potentially implicating him in what appears to have been a setup.
“But I think it’s worse,” Paul said. “I think you go back to Operation Crossfire Hurricane, the whole fake dossier and all the stuff, all of the FISA warrants that were I think improperly and illegally gotten started on the Trump campaign, I really strongly believe that President Obama gave specific and direct oversight and direct permission for this.”
Former President Obama was heard discussing the exoneration of General Michael Flynn during a call with former members of his administration recently. In the audio, which was obtained by Yahoo News, Obama falsely claimed that Flynn was charged with perjury and that his exoneration risks the rule of law.
In reality, the exoneration of Michael Flynn shows that the courts are functioning properly. After evidence suggested that FBI agents purposely misled Flynn and encouraged him to admit to something he didn’t do, his case was dropped. Now, it’s up to President Trump whether he decides to pardon him also. Without that pardon, future spiteful Democratic presidents might put him right back on trial to cover their tracks.
