(PatrioticPost.com)- For the second time in three years, President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, nominated Trump for his role in brokering the landmark deal between the United Arab Emirates and Israel. Tybring-Gjedde is also the chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Tybring-Gjedde said of Trump:
“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees.”
In his nomination letter, he wrote:
“As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity.”
Tybring-Gjedde went on to cite the president’s “key role in facilitating contact between conflicting parties and … creating new dynamics in other protracted conflicts, such as the Kashmir border dispute between India and Pakistan, and the conflict between North and South Korea, as well as dealing with the nuclear capabilities of North Korea.”
The agreement he’s referring to saw Israel and the UAE come to peace terms that will see the two countries open up air travel and trade between them — something that hasn’t happened until this point. Israel will stop its efforts to annex territory in the West Bank as part of the agreement.
It’s a truly historic agreement that brings real peace and real progress to a contentious Middle Eastern region that has lacked it for quite some time.
Of course, liberals took to social media following the announcement to spew hate of Trump and his nominee.
Martyn McLaughlin, a reporter for The Scotsman, tweeted:
“This particular strain of clickbait will be prominent today, and is best ignored. *Anyone* can receive a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, and Trump’s came from a far-right anti-immigration Norwegian parliamentarian (who also nominated Trump in 2018).”
Sal Rizzo, a reporter and fact checker at The Washington Post, tweeted:
“The nominator, a far-right Norwegian lawmaker named Christian Tybring-Gjedde, ‘previously nominated Mr. Trump for the award in 2018 for his attempts to solve the North Korean nuclear tensions.’ And yet he also says Obama got the Nobel for nothing.”
Conservatives came to the rescue, though, with some comments that made much more sense.
Matt Couch, a political analyst, wrote:
“Can you imagine the riots and temper tantrums from the leftish mob when President Trump is re-elected and he wins the Nobel Peace Prize in the same year. This is going to be glorious 🙂 ”
And Ben Shapiro, a political commentator, tweeted:
“Fact: Trump deserves the Nobel far more than did Obama, who won one for the great accomplishment of being a breathing human.”
It’s typical of misinformed liberals to attack anything that has President Trump’s name to it. They seem to be able to ignore important facts such as the president’s huge role in brokering the historic peace deal in the Middle East.
