(PatrioticPost.com)- A pollster from Susquehanna Polling and Research this week slammed members of his profession for pushing “garbage polls” and predicted that President Donald Trump will win re-election on November 3. Jim Lee said that the polling industry was pushing data that is “egregiously off” and their efforts are a kind of “voter suppression.”
During a panel discussion on “Business Matters” for WFMZ, Lee said that if the turnout for 2020 remains high, President Trump will win a second term in the White House. His opinion stands in stark contrast to most of the opinions expressed by pollsters producing data for left-wing media outlets.
Lee said that the polls showing Biden ahead by large margins in several battleground states do not reflect reality. He also said that pollsters are not taking into consideration the well-documented “shy” Trump voter effect. Lee referenced what happened in the 2016 election, where almost all polls inaccurately predicted the result of the election in part because of the shy Trump vote.
“When a poll comes out with one candidate, in this case Hillary Clinton, winning by 11 points, when the winner of the race is the other candidate, that is not an outlier,” he said. “That is bad polling and makes our entire industry look bad.”
Lee said that he called on the American Association of Public Opinion Research to “crack down on egregious polling” and improve standards for firms that didn’t understand the political landscape of battleground state Pennsylvania.
“Our data showed the race a statistical tie when others had the race at 11 points,” he said. “Do you think that’s voter suppression? I’m sticking up for the industry – we need to crack down, someone needs to say this is out of control.”
Lee also explained why the shy support for Trump is still relevant, referencing the fact that many people call the president a racist and a misogynist.
“There are a lot of voters out there that don’t want to admit they are voting for a guy that has been called a racist,” he said. “That submerged Trump factor is very real.”
“I think it’s going to be a very close race,” Lee added. “I don’t see this as a blue wave. I don’t see Biden winning in the states Trump carried in 2016.”
When pushed to answer who he thinks will win, he said, “I can’t call it. If the turnout is going to be what I think, Trump wins it.”
Lee isn’t the only pollster predicting a Trump win, either. Robert Cahaly, the chief pollster at the Trafalgar Group, predicted in mid-October that Trump would win re-election.
The Trafalgar Group accurately predicted President Trump would win swing states Michigan and Pennsylvania in the 2016 election.
Could be we on track for a surprise Trump win?
