(PatrioticPost.com)- The Pentagon has finally owned up to a “tragic mistake” in which a family of innocent people in Afghanistan was murdered by a drone strike.
The strike, which took place last month and killed 10 civilians – seven of who were children – was confirmed by the Pentagon on August 29. However, at the time, the Pentagon claimed that they had targeted an Islamic State suicide bomber who posed an immediate threat to the United States and allied troops at Kabul’s international airport.
And even as reports came out revealing how the victims of the attack were civilians, the Pentagon refused to back down, with Marine Corps General Frank McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, claiming at the time that the strike had averted an imminent threat to American forces.
Last week, however, he confirmed that the strike was a “tragic mistake” and that the Pentagon now believes that it is unlikely that the strike killed local Islamic State radicals or ISIS-K extremists, and the victims didn’t pose a threat to American troops.
Well done, Joe Biden. You got 13 American soldiers killed as well as an innocent Afghan family.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin issued a statement confirming that one of the victims of Emal Ahmadi, a worker from the American non-profit organization Nutrition and Education International. He said that they now know there is “no connection between Mr. Ahmadi and ISIS-Khorasan” and that his activities on the day he was tracked and killed were “completely harmless.”
“We apologize, and we will endeavor to learn from this horrible mistake,” he added.
Well, as long as they learn…
What was the Biden administration thinking?
