(PatrioticPost.com)- While everybody was focused on figuring out whether or not Vice President Kamala Harris was pulling the strings in the Biden administration, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki let slip on Monday that former President Barack Obama might actually be the one telling President Biden what to do.
When a reporter asked Psaki about whether the former president had paid a visit to the White House or whether the two ever speak, Psaki admitted that Biden and Obama continue to maintain a good relationship as friends.
“They consult and talk about a range of issues and I would expect that continues through the course of President Biden’s presidency,’ Psaki said.
“That can be done over the phone it turns out, and I think if President Obama had been here, you would all know,” she said.
Former President Obama famously avoided endorsing Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential campaign, with some reports suggesting that he didn’t support his candidacy and believed Biden had a tendency to “f*ck things up.”
Obama eventually came out to bat for Biden after he won the party’s nomination, appearing in campaign advertisements during the final push before election day. And since then, it seems, their relationship has grown stronger.
Psaki refused to say just how many times President Biden had spoken to the former president, opting instead to say that they “keep in regular touch” about a “range of issues.”
And it makes sense. In 2020, former President Obama indicated that he would love to have a third term as president using a stand-in. Speaking to Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show,” Obama said that in an ideal world he would like an arrangement with a “frontman or frontwoman.”
“If I could make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a frontman or frontwoman, and they had an earpiece in, and I was just in my basement in my sweats, looking through the stuff, then deliver the lines, but somebody else was doing all the talking — I’d be fine with that,” Obama said.
