(PatrioticPost.com)- A disturbing report from the New York Post just revealed how a woman from California was arrested after it was revealed that she purchased guns for her son and various gang members using money that was awarded to her after he other son was fatally shot by police.
The Post cited a statement from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, which described how 14 people, including 42-year-old Christina Lopez of Madera, were arrested following an investigation into a gang that was believed to have been involved in a shooting in July.
In April, Madera was awarded nearly $5 million after her son, Isiah Murrietta-Golding, was fatally shot by police officers. The 16-year-old boy tried to run from officers as they attempted to detain him.
Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp revealed in a statement that Lopez is believed to have used some of the multi-million-dollar settlement to purchase guns for gang members, and even for her 14-year-old son who was a part of the gang.
It makes you wonder whether the settlement was appropriate in the first place, doesn’t it? How bad a mother do you have to be to raise two gang members, only to then encourage their gang membership by purchasing guns for them?
Smittcamp also said that the mother had used the settlement to purchase a home, where she currently lives, in addition to “spending thousands of dollars on guns that she has in turn given to her 14-year-old son.”
“Clearly, this family has been seasoned in this type of behavior,” she added.
The woman now faces some 22 counts of gun trafficking charges, as well as charges of conspiracy to provide firearms to a minor for the benefit of a street gang. She’s also looking at charges of providing firearms to gang members and child endangerment.
