Mike Pence Defends Trump From Bogus Charges

(PatrioticPost.com)- Former Vice President Mike Pence has spoken out against the prosecution/persecution of Donald Trump. This denouncement holds some weight, considering Trump and Pence are not currently on each other’s Christmas Card list.

As the American people suffer crises on several fronts, including crime, inflation, and the border, Pence has slammed the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for conducting a “politically driven prosecution” against former President Donald Trump.

Pence stated on Sunday during an interview with ABC News that he finds it shocking that a former president of the United States would be indicted when New York City is experiencing a crime surge. He said it tells you everything you need to know about the extreme left in this country that the Manhattan D.A. considers indicting President Trump to be his top priority.

“It simply seems like a politically tinged prosecution here,” Pence told “This Week” co-host Jonathan Karl.

Pence, checking the country’s barometer, says he doesn’t think it’s what the American people want to see now.

Karl questioned Pence about Trump’s threats of demonstrations in the event of his arrest in Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s case concerning hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, and he said, correctly, that the American people have a fundamental right to assemble peaceably.

The ex-Vice President also called for any demonstrations to be conducted “peacefully and in a legal way.”

That is precisely what President Trump asked of the people on January 6th. If the people did not listen to what Trump clearly stated, that is not his responsibility.

Trump has asked people to protest his prosecution. “Protesting” is not inherently violent. If the left thinks so, that is more of a projection of their thinking.

When asked about the possibility of more rallies like the one on January 6 in the Capitol, Pence said the American people who participate in that type of violence should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
