(PatrioticPost.com)- Republicans were really mad when then-Vice President Mike Pence chose to certify the 2020 presidential election results despite evidence of widespread fraud and misconduct…and during a speech on Thursday night at a Hillsborough County Republican Party event in New Hampshire, he said he didn’t regret his decision.
The former vice president revealed that he had spoken “many times” with former President Donald Trump, with whom he was once a close ally and partner in the White House, and said that while they continue to occasionally speak it is unlikely that they will ever “see eye to eye” on the issue of the election.
He claimed that it was his “constitutional duty” to certify the election results on January 6, despite the fact that evidence shows election fraud and misconduct occurred in a number of battleground states last year.
Nonetheless, former Vice President Pence isn’t turning his back completely on the Make America Great Again agenda, or his work in the White House. He told the audience that he was “proud” of what the Trump-Pence Administration achieved over four years, and told Republicans that they must not allow “one tragic day” to discredit all the work that they did and the great accomplishments they made.
Pence said that it was time for Republicans to “move forward united” and said that his party should bring forward an agenda to “bring America back” in the 2022 and 2024 elections.
Pence was once considered a future contender for president in 2028, with most Republicans assuming that former President Trump would remain in the White House until then. It remains unclear whether Vice President Pence plans to run for president in 2024 or further in the future, but if he does, he’s going to have to answer a lot of questions about his decision to certify the 2020 results.
