(PatrioticPost.Com)- Former first lady Michelle Obama is all over the news at the moment after appearing in a newly-released documentary about her life. “Becoming” is now streaming on Netflix, and throughout the film, she talks about her time in political life, her joy now that she has left political life…and the fact that having children cost her her dreams.
Michelle Obama made the claim while talking about her desire to be considered an “equal” to her husband, former President Barack Obama.

“My relationship with Barack was all about our equal partnership,” she said. “If I was going to have a unique voice with this very opinionated man, I had to get myself up and set myself off to a place where I was going to be his equal.”
She then admitted that the birth of her daughters, however, changed their relationship and destroyed her dreams.
“The thing that really change it was the birth of our children,” she says in the documentary. I wasn’t really ready for that. That really made it harder. Something had to give and it was my aspirations and dreams.”
Michelle Obama said that she made concessions not because her husband said “you have to quit your job” but because she felt like she had to “tone down” her aspirations and “dial it back.”
Doesn’t sound so feminists, does it…
Michelle also used her platform on Netflix to shame African Americans into voting, or at least to try and do it.
“You know, the day I left the White House, it was painful to sit on that stage, and then a lot of our folks didn’t vote…it was almost a slap in the face,” she said.
“It wasn’t just in this election, but every midterm, every time Barack didn’t get the Congress he needed, that was because our folks didn’t show up,” she added.
Obama assumed that African Americans would all vote Democrat if they chose to show up at the polls. Didn’t she stop to think that maybe the reason people didn’t turn out to vote in 2016 is that they hated Hillary Clinton?
