MSNBC, ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News have largely ignored Friday’s explosive testimony. Former Hillary Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook testified Clinton approved the dissemination of materials alleging a secret communications channel between the Trump Organization and a Russian bank.
The mainstream media has avoided covering Michael Sussmann’s prosecution for providing a false statement to the FBI. In September 2016, Sussman told former FBI General Counsel James Baker he wasn’t working “for any client” when he sought and attended a meeting where he handed over data and white papers supposedly proving a backchannel between the Trump Organization and the Kremlin-linked Alfa Bank.
MSNBC, ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News have ignored the trial since May 15, and that trend has continued after Friday’s shocking disclosure.
A transcript search for Monday and Tuesday mornings showed no coverage.
Mook was cross-examined by Sussmann’s defense concerning the Trump campaign’s supposed Alfa Bank connection and if they planned to expose the material to the public.
Mook said the campaign wasn’t sure about the data’s authenticity, but Clinton allowed its release to the media.
Mook said in regards to Hillary, “She consented. I just recall that she consented.”
This was a stunning admission and development. The media doesn’t seem to think it was.
Transcripts show MSNBC, ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News didn’t publish the news until Sunday night.
Radio host Jason Rantz said the mainstream media hypocrisy is “sad.” He thinks disregarding Mook’s testimony isn’t the first time the media mishandled the story.
Rantz said they didn’t care to investigate campaign officials’ assertions; they just ran with them. He said It was “press release journalism” —printing what campaigns they support to tell them to publish. “Pitiful,“ he said.
For years, many sites that overlooked the Sussmann trial pushed the Russian collusion thesis. Even though Robert Mueller’s investigation found no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials in 2016, MSNBC and other publications spent years promoting conspiracy and presenting Trump as compromised.
Jeffrey McCall of DePauw University called this “omission journalism.”
That is a deliberate omission of news to promote the editors’ and producers’ ideology. The establishment media are reluctant to report on the Durham inquiry and legal developments because doing so would recognize two years of journalistic failure while pushing the mistaken Russia connection story.
Glenn Greenwald tweeted that the Clinton campaign concocted a tale about Trump’s hidden server with a Russian bank. Then major news channels consistently spew outright lies, they sit mute and pretend other stories never occurred.
Elon Musk wrote that most people don’t realize a Clinton campaign lawyer constructed a Trump-Russia falsehood using campaign funding.
In one of the most egregious political scams in recent memory, the Hillary Clinton team and the Democratic National Committee attempted to link another candidate to Russia maliciously. The disinformation effort stalled a new administration for years and fueled a ‘Resistance’ movement that refused to recognize the election results.
William A. Jacobson told Fox News Digital that this should be the most powerful media story of the century, but the liberal media is keeping away, mainly because they were involved.
