(PatrioticPost.com)- CNN Editor-At-Large Chris Cilizza became the focus of much derision and mockery on Sunday when he published a column claiming that President Donald Trump calling protests “riots” was a sign that he was desperate. The article argued that the violent protests destroying major American cities were actually just peaceful protests, but the choice of photograph proved him wrong.
Cilizza’s Twitter followers saw a photograph of two heavily armed agents stood outside a fire which was set at a furniture store in Kenosha, Wisconsin. A burning building set on fire by gangs of violent protesters is usually a sign that there’s a riot.
“Trump’s efforts to label what is happening in major cities as ‘riots’ speaks at least somewhat to his desperation, politically speaking, at the moment,” Cilizza said.

Who else thinks the person from the photo department at CNN who was responsible for choosing this picture has already been fired?
Anyone who works in the media will tell you that when you write a column, you typically don’t get to choose the title or the photographs used. Editors do that for you, and the photo department finds something they have the rights to use. In this case, clearly the person responsible for that didn’t quite comprehend what the piece was trying to say.
Otherwise, I’m sure they would have gone along with the deception and looked for photographs of people peacefully walking through the streets of Kenosha in the daytime, conveniently cutting out shots of burned-down buildings.
In the piece, Cilizza argued that President Trump’s upcoming visit to Kenosha will be used to make the case that the protests are riots. As if they’re…not riots?
“The President’s planned trip to Kenosha on Tuesday will give him a huge platform to make that case. ‘He will meet with law enforcement and survey damage from recent riots,’ according to the pool report announcing his trip,” he lamented.
If it’s not a riot, then why is there damage?
“He’ll use that grieving city as a backdrop for his campaign of fear,” he said, without an ounce of irony.
Who exactly is causing fear in Kenosha? The president who has called for an end to the left-wing violence, or the left-wing extremists committing the violence?
