Lindsey Graham Walks Back Call for Putin’s Murder

(PatrioticPost.com)- Last Thursday, South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham called on someone to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin. But rather than apologize for his reckless rhetoric, Senator Graham went on Fox News and blasted Russia’s US ambassador for demanding that Graham apologize.

The incident all began on Twitter. Because where else would you go to ask someone to assassinate a world leader?

Graham tweeted “Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?” He said the “way this ends” is for someone in Russia to take Putin out, adding that whoever assassinated Putin would be doing Russia and the world “a great service.”

Unsurprisingly, the blowback was both swift and bipartisan, as people from both sides of the aisle slammed the neo-con, warmongering Graham for using Twitter of all places to beg someone to assassinate Russia’s president.

Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov also blasted Graham, calling his comments “unacceptable and outrageous.”

Rather than keep his mouth shut, Senator Graham responded to Antonov during an interview on Fox & Friends on Friday. Graham accused Antonov of “supporting a war criminal” and said Russia was engaging in “war crimes in front of the entire world” by “bombing innocent civilians.” Graham said Antonov is the one who needs to apologize, then added that Putin “needs to go to jail.”

Okay, so now Lindsey Graham only wants Vladimir Putin in prison rather than six feet under.

But this kind of recklessness rhetoric is pretty much par for the course for the South Carolina senator.

Like his late pal John McCain, Lindsey Graham has always been a warmonger. And this is especially true when it comes to Ukraine.

During his opening monologue on Monday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson featured a video clip of Senator Graham speaking to Ukraine troops in 2016 where he declared that their fight against Russia was “our fight.”
