Lawmaker Says White House Trying To Find Exit For Dr. Fauci

( Rep. Madison Cawthorn, the young Republican congressman for North Carolina, claimed during an interview on Newsmax TV on Thursday that White House officials are looking for ways to gradually remove Dr. Anthony Fauci from the government’s COVID-19 response.

If true, it could mean that the accusations made about Fauci and the National Institute of Health funding the Wuhan Institute of Virology are true, and that the White House is looking for ways to minimize the damage it could do to the government’s and Democrats’ response to the pandemic.

Cawthorn told Greg Kelly that Fauci’s days are numbered, and that he knows an insider in the White House who has spoken “very openly” to him about exit strategies for Dr. Fauci.

It comes after thousands of Fauci’s emails were released as part of a Freedom of Information Act request. The emails were obtained by BuzzFeed News and The Washington Post and among other things reveal that Dr. Fauci was telling former government officials in the early days of the pandemic not to wear face masks.

He advised an Obama-era Health and Human Services secretary that wearing a mask didn’t make any sense as the virus was small enough to slip through the fabric.

Rep. Cawthorn said that there were so many inconsistencies in Fauci’s response to the pandemic that he believes he is a “megalomaniac.”

Cawthorn could be right, but Democrats are unlikely to admit it. Fauci has widely been hailed at the most knowledge and trustworthy public health official, but the news that the National Institute of Health sent $600,000 to an organization named EcoHealth, which in turn funded bat coronavirus research in Wuhan, could completely destroy that image.

We’ll see how this pans out…
