Juan Williams Wants Democrats to Run on Economy

(PatrioticPost.com)- In another silly op-ed at The Hill, Fox News host Juan Williams tries to make the case that the Democrats would be smart to take a page from Ronald Reagan’s playbook and campaign by asking voters if they are better off now than they were a year ago.

Williams actually believes this would be a winning strategy for Democrats heading into the midterms – which tells you a lot about how clueless Juan Williams is.

See, in Juan’s fevered imagination, Americans would answer, “Why yes, I am better off paying more for gas and groceries. And I definitely wouldn’t want to go back to the bad old days when home improvement costs didn’t cripple me and I paid significantly less to heat my home.”

Inflation in October increased at the highest year-over-year pace in thirty-one years. But Juan Williams thinks that puts Democrats at the advantage.

Williams thinks Democrats should put the “American Rescue Plan” front and center in 2022. This was the COVID “relief” bill Democrats rammed through in February that kicked off the drastic increase in inflation, subsidized unemployment, and put an end to the V-shaped recovery that was happening under Trump. But Williams thinks Democrats would be smart to promote the heck out of it.

Why? Because no Republicans voted for it.

Williams also repeats the lie that Biden’s economy has “created” jobs.

No. The jobs numbers are not jobs “created,” but jobs regained after people lost them during the pandemic lockdowns. As it is, we are still over 4 million jobs away from matching the pre-pandemic employment rate.

There’s a reason Juan Williams doesn’t work as a campaign strategist.

If Democrats were to follow his advice, it would blow up in their faces like a trick cigar. And, unlike Williams, the Democrats know it.

That’s why they’re pushing the January 6 “Insurrection” narrative. With nothing positive to run on, the Democrats hope that fearmongering over Republicans by smearing them as “insurrectionists,” “racists,” and “Trump clones” will be their ticket to victory next November.

But if the Virginia governor’s race is any indication, that is a risky bet to make.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, they have no choice.

If they adopted Juan Williams’ ridiculous strategy, voters would only conclude that the Democrats are even more out of touch than they thought they were.
