(PatrioticPost.Com)- The coronavirus pandemic is serving as the perfect platform for far-left extremists like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to push their radical agenda on the American people. The radical Democratic congresswoman from New York said on a talk show on Wednesday that Americans should refuse to turn up to work when the economy starts to reopen.
Think about that. A congresswoman who takes home $174,000 per year in salary is telling Americans all over the country who are barely getting by to stay at home and not go to work.
AOC made the comments on “A Seat at the Table” on VICE TV. In a preview for the show, VICE TV said AOC “calls for a national work boycott.”
“The congresswoman says Americans should refuse to go back to work,” the preview continued.
The Washington Times reported on the extreme comments made by AOC before the episode even aired, and you won’t believe it.
“When we talk about this idea of reopening society you know, only in America does the president, when the president tweets about liberation, does he mean go back to work,” she said.
Where does she think people get money from?
“When we have this discussion about going back or reopening, I think a lot of people should just say no – we’re not going back to that,” she added.
Just don’t go back to work, huh? AOC has a reputation for behaving like a spoiled child throwing a temper tantrum, and comments like this aren’t doing her any favors!
“We’re not going back to working 70-hour weeks just so that we can put food on the table and not even feel any sort of semblance of security in our lives,” she also said.
Her comments are perplexing because, before the coronavirus pandemic, America’s economy was strong. Unemployment was at record lows and anyone who wanted a job could go out and get one. Not only that, but people were earning more money than ever.
Ocasio-Cortez did not explain how she believes the economy could function as normal if people refuse to go to work but expect to continue taking home an income. But then again, how could she?
AOC recently criticized President Trump, blaming him for the loss of more than 20 million jobs over the last four weeks.
“Mass unemployment was a choice,” she said. “We did not need to lose 20 million jobs. We didn’t. We had options and the option that we chose was to do nothing, despite the fact that we could have done something to save millions of jobs in this country.”
So which is it? Does she want people in work or not?
