Hillary Clinton Scared That Trump Will Return In 2024

(PatrioticPost.com)- There’s at least one person who thinks that former President Donald Trump will eventually announce his intentions to seek the White House again — his former challenger, Hillary Clinton.

In an NBC interview that was released on Sunday, the former secretary of state and failed 2016 Democratic presidential candidate predicted that Trump would indeed run for president in 2024. She also added that if he were to win, it “could be the end” to democracy in the United States.

Speaking on the “Sunday Today” program with host Willie Geist, Clinton said:

“If I were a betting person right now, I’d say Trump is going to run again. He seems to be setting himself up to do that, and if he’s not held accountable, he gets to do it again.

“I think that could be the end of our democracy. Not to be too pointed about it, but I want people to understand that this could be a make-or-break point. If he or someone of his ilk were once again to be elected president, especially if he had a Congress that would do his bidding, you will not recognize our country.”

What Clinton is alluding to is the very real possibility that the next president enters the White House with a Congress that is fully controlled by Republicans. Democrats right now have only a slim majority in the House and a technical majority in the Senate, and their prospects for retaining that control leading into the 2022 midterms doesn’t look too good.

Despite being out of official politics for a while now, Clinton still likes to meddle in them from the sidelines. Clinton had political ambitions for herself, after serving as First Lady while her husband Bill was in the White House.

She lost the Democratic primary to eventual President Barack Obama in 2008, and then lost to Trump in the 2016 general election after being named the Democratic nominee.

During the interview, Geist asked whether Clinton ever had “moments of responsibility of even guilt” about how things went down in Trump’s time in the White House. She replied:

“Of course. I tried to warn people. I tried to make the case that this was really dangerous — the people he was aligned with, what they were saying, what he might do. I do think but for Jim Comey and the stunt he pulled 10 days before the election, I would have won.”

Five years have passed since the October 28, 2016, incident that Clinton is referencing, and she still holds a grudge.

As the FBI director at the time, Comey announced just 10 days before the presidential election that his agency would be renewing their investigation into the private email server Clinton had.

Clinton along with other top Democrats have argued that the announcement being so close to the election was enough to sway a considerable amount of independent voters, which allowed Trump to defeat Clinton at the polls.
