Guards Leap Into Action At Trump Tower

On Wednesday, police in Chicago sprung into action when reports that a woman had entered the Trump International Hotel and Tower while carrying a rifle. The timing of this was particularly unfortunate since tensions are already at an all-time high due to Trump’s controversial presence on the political scene. Trump tension is currently palpable.

According to two law enforcement officials who talked to the Chicago Sun-Times, the unidentified woman was seen entering the facility at about 11:25 a.m. while carrying a firearm. The chaos escalated from there.

The Chicago Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit was called into duty on the same day that former President Donald Trump was detained in a court in Manhattan.

The subsequent hours-long confrontation between the female suspect and law enforcement was tense on both sides. WMAO-TV reports that the road outside Trump Tower was closed due to the heavy police presence.

The Mirror reports that the woman was confirmed to be in law enforcement custody at approximately 3 p.m.

Reports circulated that a woman was barricading herself inside her apartment and was taking people, hostage. The police department declined to address those rumors.

According to the Sun-Times, police were summoned to an apartment on the 27th floor, and the woman purportedly told them that she was tired of being abused by her husband.

The investigation led the police to conclude that a member of the family or home was involved. Once the woman was brought into custody, the officials said she was sent to a hospital for an examination.

Nobody was hurt that anybody heard about it.

“At this time, we believe this to be an isolated incidence, and there is no threat to the public at this time,” read a statement issued by the Chicago Police Department.
