(PatrioticPost.com)- The FBI is reportedly investigating 11 different sightings of Brian Laundrie, the boyfriend of murdered YouTube star Gabby Petito who went missing when police officers revealed their intention to question him about the murder.
A report by the daily mail revealed that people claim to have seen Laundrie on the Appalachian Trail which is close to the North Carolina and Tennessee border.
One person who claims to have spotted Laundrie in the area is Dennis Davis, a hiker who called 911 and claims that he was 99.9% certain that he spotted the man driving a truck early last Saturday.
Another call came from an unnamed local resident who claims to have seen a scruffy-looking man with an unkempt beard resembling the 23-year-old Laundrie on the exact same road.
Investigators have spent weeks chasing down Laundrie in connection with the murder of Petito but have so far been unsuccessful in tracing him. The search has been joined by famous TV bounty hunter, Dog the Bounty Hunter, who claims to have received thousands of tips from local people.
Speaking to the daily Mail, hiker Dennis Davis said that the FBI are “definitely taking [his] information seriously.”
Davis, who is a Florida father, was taking a hike when he was stopped by a man at 12:30am on Saturday morning on a deserted road. The man, he said, explained that he had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend and needed somebody to drive him to California to reunite him with her.
Davis said that he pointed out that he should take the Interstate 40 the entire way to California, but the strange man said that he would instead stick with the small country road he was walking along instead.
Local police officers then spent two hours in the remote region looking for the man, but so far hasn’t found him.
