(PatrioticPost.com)- Two weeks ago, the FBI announced that over the last four months, agents have arrested about 6,000 violent criminals throughout the United States, seizing over 2,700 firearms and significant quantities of fentanyl and other illegal narcotics.
In a video message released on September 13, FBI Director Christopher Wray outlined how the FBI is working with local law enforcement to combat “the rising rate of gun and gang violence.”
The operations targeting violent criminals and gang members were carried out in California, Hawaii, Illinois, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Texas, and Washington.
In California, 28 members of the South LA gang, Eastside Playboys were arrested by the Los Angeles Metropolitan Task Force on Violent Gangs on federal racketeering, firearms, and narcotics charges. In total, the task force seized 47 firearms, nearly 200 kilos of methamphetamine, 27 kilos of cocaine, over 7 kilos of heroin, and more than 13 kilos of fentanyl.
In New Mexico, the FBI’s gang task force carried out 16 federal search warrants on prison and street gangs in Albuquerque, seizing over a million fentanyl pills, 142 pounds of meth, 37 firearms, two hand grenades, and $1.8 million in cash.
