(PatrioticPost.com)- Portland has officially entered its fourth month of consecutive nightly violence, and far-left protesters aren’t just going after federal buildings anymore. Seemingly unhappy with just burning down and destroying police buildings and the federal courthouse, violent Democrat voters are now attempting to destroy residential buildings.
According to a Portland Police Department statement, a “mass gathering devolved into a riot after individuals broke windows, burglarized a business, and lit a fire in an occupied apartment building.”
Just think about that for a moment. Not that it’s excusable to destroy federal buildings, but protesters are now going after apartment buildings where people live.
“Some in the crowd began lighting off what appeared to be illegal commercial-grade fireworks. A fire was lit in a garbage can in the street. Some windows were broken and walls were defaced with graffiti”, the statement reads.
Officers attempted to stay out of sight and monitor the situation from a distance “in an attempt to deescalate,” they said, but the vandalism and burning did not stop. Officers reported seeing people burglarizing a business, removing furniture from the store, and then throwing it all on the street before setting it on fire.

Officers then declared an unlawful assembly, before extremists began throwing burning material through a broken window on the ground floor of a residential, occupied apartment building. Citing fears that the fires would spread – and kill everyone inside – police officers declared a riot and began clearing the extremists away.

Authorities are reportedly now looking for the person who started the fire.
Rioters were told over a loudspeaker that the area was closed and they must make way for firefighters to put out the crowds, but according to the police, few complied.
“Officers began to move the crowd. Immediately, officers reported rocks and paint balloons being thrown at them,” the statement said. “Arrests were made. As the crowd moved away, some attempted to stack debris in the road to create barricades.”
