(PatrioticPost.com) – After Michael Bloomberg reluctantly praised President Donald Trump for his funding of the military, Elizabeth Warren has found herself praising his administration for his decision to ban flavored e-cigarette products.
During a CNN town hall event that took place on Wednesday night, a day after the debate, Warren explained that she believed the president deserved credit for taking action on the issue of young people smoking and vaping.
Don Lemon, the host of the town hall event, said, “Senator Warren, earlier this month, the Trump Administration policy that banned many flavored e-cigarettes went into effect. Does President Trump deserve some credit for that?”
Clearly scared of answering honestly, but having no other choice, Warren responded, “uh, actually, yes.”
“The head of the FDA who did this, I spoke to him many times and said I would support him if he did this,” she added.

Warren, of course, wanted to shift the praise away from the president who has disapproved of smoking his entire life. The Democratic candidate, known for bending the truth, might want to deny Trump of the role he played in the decision to ban flavored e-cigarettes, but it was ultimately a Trump policy and a Trump decision. And, it has proven popular with some Republicans and many Democrats who wish to reduce the likelihood of young people taking up smoking.
“Look, when we see movement in the right direction, we have to be willing to stand up and say, ‘good,’” she continued.
The ban, which came into effect earlier this month, was heavily reported by the press.
In January, USA Today reported:
“The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday that it will ban fruit- and mint-flavored products used in e-cigarettes and vaping products while allowing vape shops to sell flavors from tank-based systems.
The FDA will begin enforcing the rule banning fruit and mint flavors within 30 days, and the regulatory agency will target companies that market to youths.
The flavoring ban does not apply to menthol and tobacco-flavored products. Vaping shops won a concession that will temporarily allow them to sell flavors in stores from tank-based systems, which allow people to mix their own nicotine and vaping juice.”
Not all Republicans agreed with the move, but Trump’s decision to take action proved he is a man willing to do what he believes is the right thing – and potentially appeal to disillusioned Democrats in the process.
