Drone Sightings Raise Alarm
German military installations have recently experienced a series of unauthorized drone incursions, particularly in Bavaria’s Manching and Neuburg an der Donau. These incidents have ignited concerns about potential Russian spying activities targeting a NATO ally. The Manching Air Base, known for testing the airworthiness of new German military aircraft, reported up to 10 mysterious drones flying overhead, raising significant security concerns.
The drone sightings occurred on December 18, 19, and 25, with the most recent incident involving 10 drones over Manching. Similar occurrences were also reported at the U.S. air base in Ramstein and an industrial site in Brunsbüttel, indicating a potentially broader pattern of surveillance.
Espionage Concerns Amid Ukraine Conflict
Investigators have not ruled out espionage, possibly linked to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Bavarian State Police, operating under the Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office, has launched a security investigation and is actively seeking witnesses. The drones are suspected of attempting to photograph military installations, heightening fears for European security in the context of ongoing tensions with Russia.

The German government’s response to these drone incursions has faced criticism on social media platforms. In light of these events, authorities are considering revising current laws to better equip military forces to counteract such drone activities effectively. The government plans to amend its Aviation Security Act, allowing armed forces to shoot down drones and use air defense systems against them.
As the investigation continues, German authorities are actively encouraging citizens to come forward with any relevant evidence that could lead to identifying and apprehending the drone operators.
Surely we have to find out what is going on with these UFOs and drones soon, right?
