(PatrioticPost.com)- Former President Donald Trump isn’t going to let Joe Biden get away with his disastrous withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, and issued a statement on Tuesday slamming the president for the “botched” and “embarrassingly incompetent” way he did it.
Trump said that the withdrawal, which left thousands of Americans stranded in the country after troops were ordered to leave, had nothing to do with past administrations or things that happened 20 years ago.
”The horrible ‘withdrawal’ was caused, in particular, because the military was taken out before American citizens, and $85 Billion worth of the highest-grade military equipment anywhere in the world,” Trump said in the statement.
He went on to say that it was developed and dreamed up by a “child’s mind” and that the only people responsible for the disaster, which left more than a dozen American military personnel dead, are the officials within the Biden administration.
Trump added that when he left office, the Taliban was “held at bay” and that the United States had as long as was required to withdraw troops at a sensible speed.
“There was no reason to rush, no soldiers were killed or even shot at for over 18 months,” he added.
It’s true.
Trump added that it was a decision made by the Biden administration and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Mark Milley to remove the military in a rush, in what he called “one of the dumbest military moves in history.”
These are fighting words, and it’s not even hyperbole. It’s literally all true.
Trump also timed the statement to come on the same day that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and General Milley testified to the Senate Armed Services Committee about their horrible job in withdrawing American troops.
