Donald Trump Calls Liz Cheney A “Fool”

( Former President Donald Trump slammed Republican congresswoman for Wyoming and House GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney on Tuesday, branding her a “warmongering fool” amid reports that she may be planning a run for the Republican 2024 nomination.

Trump said she would “embarrass her family” by running for president the next time around, in a race where the former president himself is widely believed to be planning on running, or where a Trump-supporting candidate like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would also likely perform well.

“Liz Cheney is polling sooo low in Wyoming, and has sooo little support, even from the Wyoming Republican Party, that she is looking for a way out of her Congressional race,” Trump said in a statement from his Save America PAC.

“Based on all polling, there is no way she can win. She’ll either be yet another lobbyist or maybe embarrass her family by running for President, in order to save face,” he added.

Trump and Cheney already don’t get along, so that statement comes as no real shock. This week, Politico also reported how Cheney’s relationship with Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is weakening, even after he defended her earlier this year when House Republicans pushed to remove her from her leadership position.

“There’s a responsibility, if you’re gonna be in leadership, leaders eat last,” McCarthy said about Cheney. “And when leaders try to go out, and not work as one team, it creates difficulties.”

This week, Cheney also told the New York Post that she may consider running for the White House in the future – a candidacy that could cause a civil war within the Republican Party. With former President Trump enjoying majority support within the party, there seems little chance at this point that an anti-Trump Republican could win the nomination – and a pretty substantial chance that such a candidacy would cause a rift within the party not seen since the 2016 primaries.

“I’m not ruling anything in or out – ever is a long time,” she said to the Post about running in the future.

It’s what prompted former President Trump to predict that she intends to keep the United States involved in foreign wars forever.

“This warmongering fool wants to stay in the Middle East and Afghanistan or another 19 years, but doesn’t consider the big picture-Russia and China!” he said.

2016 could seem like a walk in the park if 2024 becomes a race between Cheney’s establishment Republicans and Trump’s MAGA supporters.
