(PatrioticPost.com)- After the Supreme Court overturned New York’s law requiring applicants to prove proper cause to receive a concealed carry permit for self-defense, the US Department of Justice released a statement disagreeing with the Court’s decision.
Calling the New York law a “reasonable requirement,” the DOJ vowed to continue working with state and local authorities to use “all legally available tools” to combat “gun violence.”
In short, the Justice Department doesn’t plan to let something like a Supreme Court ruling get in the way of violating Americans’ Second Amendment rights.
Then the next day, after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and upheld the Mississippi 15-week abortion ban, Attorney General Merrick Garland released a statement saying that the Justice Department “strongly disagrees” with the court and will continue to “work tirelessly” to advance “reproductive freedom.”
Garland claimed that the ruling eliminated “an established right” that safeguards “women’s ability to participate fully and equally in society.”
What now?
Thank God Mitch McConnell kept this guy off of the Supreme Court.
Garland vowed that the DOJ would continue to protect abortion in the states where it is currently legal and would ensure that women in states where abortion is banned are free to travel to another state to kill their baby.
Okay, he didn’t put it like that.
The attorney general said the Justice Department would also work with the FDA and other agencies to make sure states do not ban the abortion-from-home drug mifepristone, arguing that states are not permitted to ban drugs “based on disagreement with the FDA’s expert judgment about its safety and efficacy.”
Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Human Services has launched a website to help direct women to abortion and contraceptive services, including helping underage girls bypass the parental consent laws that exist in 37 states.
The HHS website, ReproductiveRights.gov links underage girls to a separate website that contains resources for them to successfully obtain an abortion without involving their parents.
The Executive Branch is actively working to undermine the Judicial Branch.
So much for protecting our “norms.”
