D.C. To Be New Target Of Another Trucker Rally

(PatrioticPost.com)- The People’s Convoy announced the trucker protest organization would return to Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland on Tuesday, which was previously utilized as a staging ground for rallies in Washington, D.C., earlier this year.

The group declared that it would return to Hagerstown to protest during a Sunday event in Ohio. It was live-streamed on the YouTube website “1st Responders Media.” Trucks would arrive at the raceway on Tuesday evening, according to the People’s Convoy’s Facebook page and website. The Facebook post stated the convoy would arrive at Hagerstown Speedway and that they were grateful that the speedway would welcome the People’s Convoy back.

According to local media, the director of the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency confirmed that authorities were aware of reports that the People’s Convoy would return to the city. The director, Chris Rodriguez, stated they do not disclose operational tactics. Still, Metropolitan Police Department would take appropriate enforcement action against anyone who participates in criminal activities in the District of Columbia.
The raceway anticipates 15 to 20 trucks for one or two weeks, according to a spokesman. The venue isn’t sure if any more vehicles will join them. The trucks will be parked in an area out back, and the convoy participants won’t disrupt day-to-day operations at the speedway.
The convoy participants want the federal government to end and not reapply emergency COVID-19 mandates or CDC rules, according to reports. Most protesters cited concerns about the government stripping individual rights and freedom of choice.
The previous convoy arrived and departed in March after circling around the D.C. beltway to protest COVID-19 mandates and restrictions. The convoy co-organizer, Mike Landis, rallied the truckers, saying they were not done protesting. He then suggested they would be back again, according to news reports.
Senators Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) were among those who met with the convoy (R-Texas). Ted Cruz was spotted at the raceway riding shotgun with truckers.
