CNN Refuses To Fact-Check Claim Going Against Joe Biden

( CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins refused to fact-check a claim that was actually true. GOP Rep. Nick LaLota claimed that President Biden was lying during his State of the Union address, but the president was telling the truth, according to a report from Mediaite.

“Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset. I’m not saying it’s a majority,” the president said, being met with GOP members booing and shouting that he was a “liar.”

According to the media outlet, this claim is “100 percent true and heavily-qualified.”

While speaking to Collins about the president’s speech, LaLota said that with some proposals, Biden had received some support and with others he did not. He then criticized the heckling and suggested that in the future the decorum would be better. But he also said that some of that responsibility was on the president for being truthful instead of lying.

“I booed the president during that time,” the congressman said, noting that he comes “from New York. We call it the Bronx cheer when we see something that we don’t like and certainly something that somebody was lying to us in our own house.”

Mediaite did not specify why Biden was being truthful when he alleged that Republicans want to slash Social Security and Medicare.

Other outlets reiterated the sentiment, with CNN anchor Chris Wallace suggesting that the GOP made Biden look good during the speech. The former Fox News host called the address “perfect” and said that Republicans “literally played into his hands” because Biden was able to say that they have reached an agreement on the entitlement programs and frame the issue to his advantage.

The address was also met with laughter when Biden said that the United States was going to need oil for the next decade.
