Calls For DOJ To Investigate Source Of Funding For Rioters Increases

(PatrioticPost.com)- Another Republican congressman is calling on the Department of Justice to initiate an investigation into what people and/or groups are possibly funding the riots that are happening across the United States.

First, Republican Senator Rand Paul called on the DOJ to instigate an investigation after he and his wife were threatened by an angry mob outside of the White House. The couple was leaving President Donald Trump’s acceptance speech on the final night of the Republican National Convention and heading to their hotel when rioters confronted them.

Now, Republican Representative Ken Buck, from Colorado, is calling for the same thing. On both Sunday and Monday, Buck tweeted:

“The Justice Department needs to open an investigation into who is funding these violent riots.

“Big city mayors have been unable to govern and control the violence on their streets. Americans are sick and tired of it. We need to take action –@TheJusticeDept must investigate and prosecute the individuals and groups who are organizing and funding these destructive riots.”

Following news of the threats on Paul and his wife, and video that surfaced of the incident, Buck took to Twitter, writing:

“If the Tea Party threatened a Democratic Senator and assaulted police officers like this, it would be leading CNN. Every conservative politician would be asked to condemn it. Where is the outrage?”

Paul recounted how he and his wife still didn’t feel safe after they returned to their hotel last Thursday night. He said:

“After we got back to our hotel room and some safety, we heard something frightening. The ‘protesters’ were staying on our floor — including the room next door to us. They were talking about their mob activities and even saying they thought we were here on this floor. We had to develop a 3 a.m. plan with the Capitol Police to get to safety.

“My question is: Who are these people? Who paid for their hotel rooms? Who flew them in? Law enforcement needs to look at the funding of violent criminal activity like this.

“And national Democrats need to confront it. It’s organized. It’s paid for. It’s violent. It’s not about Black lives or any lives; it’s about anarchy and destruction. The American people are starting to catch on and grow tired of it.”

On the flip side of this, instead of trying to protect people and enforce laws, some Democratic leaders are asking police to be more understanding of rioters and looters. According to a report from RedState, for example, the district attorney of Contra Costa County in California, Diana Becton, told police they should consider whether the looters needed the items they stole before charging them with a crime.

She apparently distributed a “Looting Guidelines” documents to officers in the county that asks them to consider:

“Was the theft committed for financial gain or personal need?”

Meanwhile, a couple who painted over a Black Lives Matter mural in the same county have been charged with a hate crime. Nichelle Holmes, the deputy district attorney there, wrote on social media that, “We want more than a citation for vandalism.”

Apparently looting is OK but vandalism is an abomination.
