(PatrioticPost.com)- The Bush family was once a sort of “royal family” of the Republican Party, but ever since the Iraq War and President Donald Trump’s relentless exposes of the George W. Bush administration, the family has become a controversial part of Republican Party history.
And George W. isn’t exactly helping himself by appearing on left-wing TV and news shows advocating for looser border controls and amnesty for illegal aliens…
A fresh report from Axios revealed that a foundation started by Neil Bush, the son of former President George W. Bush, is currently being bankrolled by a company with strong links to the Chinese Communist Party.
The report says that the George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations is halfway through receiving a massive $5 million grant from the China-United States Exchange Foundation, an organization known for sending politicians and other influential individuals on all-expenses-paid trips to China. The organization has set aside the funds to operate the organization from 2019 to 2023, with potentially more cash on the way once that round of funding ends.
Axios reported that tax filings from May to December 2019 show that the Bush China Foundation took $1.2 million in contributions from the Chinese organization.
CUSEF is run by the former chief executive of Hong Kong, Tung Chee-Hwa, and is described as an “Independent, non-profit, and non-governmental foundation.”
But if it’s advancing the interests of the Chinese Communist Party and taking funds from the government…that’s a bit of a stretch.
CUSEF is not exactly under the radar, either. Neil Bush and the rest of the Bush family are likely very aware of the organization’s links to China.
Texas Republican Rep. Mike McCaul and Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar both brought the issue to light back in 2018, writing to the presidents of Texas universities over the influence CUSEF was wielding over the state’s campuses with the aim of spreading political propaganda and suppressing academic debate.
Now would be a good time for the Bush family to answer why they have been taking Chinese money.
