Biden Supporters Prepare For GOP House Probes Into Hunter

( Republicans are set to take over control of the House early next year, and they’ve already announced plans for major investigations into various aspects of the Biden administration.

One of those investigations is into the business dealings of Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, as well as his infamous laptop.

Now, many of Biden’s allies are starting to lay some groundwork in attempts to downplay and discredit any potential revelations that are put out into the public from the Republican-led investigations.

This week, Ron Filipkowski, who was once a Republican but has since switched to being an ardent Democrat, said the president has “avoided” the subject of his son for “a long time,” but there’s no evidence that ties Hunter’s business affairs to his father.

In a Twitter thread, Filikowski wrote:

“It’s quite clear that Hunter was a very serious drug addict that went completely off the rails and did a lot of crazy stuff. It also seems clear that he frequently used his dad’s name and alleged connections to make money and gain access.

“If the point is to embarrass, humiliate, & trash Hunter, that won’t be hard. But who cares? The only thing that makes any of this relevant for a congressional inquiry is whether Joe Biden was directly involved or [benefitted] financially from what Hunter was up to.

“That is the problem for them. On that score, the evidence is sorely lacking.”

Filipkowski also claims to have seen “a lot” of this evidence himself. He added that Republicans in the House who are in charge of potential investigations “are going to have an extremely difficult time tying Hunter’s activities to Joe.” If they fail in their aim to do so, Filipkowski said “it will backfire on them to waste so much time, resources and hype on an exercise to show that Hunter was a corrupt drug addict who leveraged his family name for his own benefit.”

Of course, this is not what some Republicans are claiming to be the case.

During a press conference held last Thursday, Republican Representatives James Comer and Jim Jordan both said the president was actively involved with the overseas business affairs right alongside Hunter.

Comer will soon serve as the chair of the House Oversight Committee, while Jordan is expected to serve as the chair of the House Judiciary Committee.

Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, and citing whistleblowers, Comer said the entire Biden family “flourished and became millionaires by simply offering access to the family.”

Republicans also released a report last week that said they’ve already uncovered evidence of multiple crimes that have been committed, including wire fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, a Foreign Agents Registration Act violation, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

The White House did not say silent on the matter. Ian Sams, who serves as a spokesman for the office of the White House Counsel, said:

“Instead of working with President Biden to address issues important to the American people, like lower costs, congressional Republicans’ top priority is to go after President Biden with politically motivated attacks chock full of long-debunked conspiracy theories.

“President Biden is not going to let these political attacks distract him from focusing on Americans’ priorities, and we hope congressional Republicans will join us in tackling them instead of wasting time and resources on political revenge.”
