President Joe Biden wanted his Department of Justice (DOJ) to bring a case against former President Donald Trump for what happened on January 6, 2021, and last week, almost a year after his first accusations, the DOJ did so.
According to an article from April 2022, the Biden administration and Attorney General Merrick Garland had different agendas. Biden hoped Garland would be more forceful and take more concrete steps to attack Trump before January 6. The New York Times claims that in private conversations with close associates, Biden said former President Donald J. Trump posed a danger to democracy and should be punished.
While Biden is reported to have never voiced his displeasure to Garland personally, the story claims that he has privately expressed his desire for Garland to behave less like a slow-moving judge and to act more like a prosecuting attorney ready to take swift action in response to the events of January 6. Garland has previously said he would do the proper thing regardless of where the evidence and the law took them.
On Tuesday, Special Counsel Jack Smith revealed that a grand jury in D.C. has charged Trump on charges related to the disturbance at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. This fulfilled a request of Joe Biden.
Online, former President Trump explained why it took 2.5 years to bring charges. Because they want to have the trial going throughout his campaign in hopes of blemishing it. Trump called it “Prosecutorial Misconduct!”
In another TruthSocial statement, Trump said that Crooked Joe Biden, his political opponent, has instructed Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice to prosecute and jail him on false charges and allegations in an attempt to steal the election. However, that wasn’t adequate enough. ‘Deranged’ Jack Smith, the thug prosecutor he has hired, is now threatening to go to court to have his right to free speech revoked.
