(PatrioticPost.com)- Politics aside, we know that our readers don’t wish ill health on anybody for their political views. So we are sorry to report that Democratic Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is currently being treated for breast cancer.
The former presidential contender revealed on Thursday that she found the cancer in February and that the treatment was going “well.”
The 61-year-old Democrat politician announced on Twitter that the cancer was detected early during a routine mammogram and that she opted for radiation treatment, which she completed in May. Treatment for cancer usually remains ongoing for some time, and Klobuchar said that her checkup in August revealed that she is doing well.
It looks as though she is on the path to remission.
In her third term as a Senator, Klobuchar was first elected to the Senate in 2006 and has remained a prominent Democrat since. She was famously considered as a potential running mate for Joe Biden in last year’s election but was overlooked because of the color of her skin.

In a tweet, Klobuchar said that her cancer was Stage 1, meaning it was isolated in the breast and did not spread to the rest of her body. She described her sense of relief that she had managed to catch it early with a mammogram, and urged other Americans not to delay regular screenings.
