Alleged Child Predator Jumps Into Traffic After Being Chased

An alleged child predator jumped into oncoming traffic after being confronted by a group from Great Britain called the “paedophile hunters,” according to a report from National File. Viral footage showed the man running away from the group after he was allegedly caught trying to meet up with a child.

Some users were expressing their concerns that the group engaged in a crime as well, calling their tactics “entrapment.” One questioned whether or not the man was guilty, claiming that the “vigilantes” were “harassing” him. But another claimed that throwing himself into oncoming traffic is an admission of guilt.

The story follows another incident where a man, identified as Tim Yergeau, committed suicide after authorities botched a raid seeking a suspect who possessed explicit content of children, according to Fox News. Police reportedly made a mistake when conducting the raid and instead broke down the door of the upstairs neighbor. They questioned the woman on Yergeau’s whereabouts but realized they made a mistake after seeing her four-year-old’s toys in the room.

New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson stated that the suspect and the person who committed suicide were the same person. Police have declined to specify what was found inside his apartment when they searched. They are also investigating how Yergeau committed suicide.

Yergeau was a former strategic communications director for Planned Parenthood.

In the last few years, many offenders have been arrested, including employees at Walt Disney for human trafficking, according to CBS News. Following a six-day sting, 108 people were reportedly arrested.

“The arrests of a human trafficker and four child predators alone makes this whole operation worthwhile,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. He added that these offenses are often indicative of “exploitation, disease, and broken families.
