(PatrioticPost.com)- Yet another northeast Texas county has declared that an invasion has happened at the U.S. southern border.
Commissioners in Van Zandt County, along with Judge Don Kirkpatrick, recently signed a resolution that expressed their support for Republican Governor Gregg Abbott “to take necessary action to stop the chaos on our border.”
According to the resolution:
“The health, safety and welfare of Texas residents are under an imminent threat from the unprecedented levels of illegal immigration, human trafficking and drug smuggling coming across the U.S. border from Mexico.
“More than 3.2 million illegal aliens have been apprehended after unlawfully entering the United States, and more than 800,000 illegal aliens have avoided apprehension while unlawfully entering the United States and are unaccounted for in our nation.”
The statistics they were citing were since January of 2021.
The resolution further points out that there are more than 50 people who are known terrorists who have entered America illegally just since President Joe Biden has been in the White House. There are also an unprecedented amount of drugs and number of people who have been trafficked into America as a direct result of the lax immigration policies the Biden administration has implemented.
Data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection that was published on August 15 shows that there are more than 80 people who are on the Terrorist Watchlist who have been encountered along the U.S. southern border just since Biden entered the White House.
Through July during fiscal year 2022, there were 66 people on that watchlist had encounters at the southern border. All of them weren’t citizens of the United States.
That total number was more than happened in all fiscal years from 2017 through 2021 combined.
As the resolution says:
“The sophisticated human trafficking and drug smuggling organizations that facilitate these criminal acts are spearheaded by international drug cartels who, at times, have operational control over the southern border. They not only threaten our citizens, but the citizens of various nations from which the trafficked victims originate.
“The ongoing immigration crisis on the Texas border is not acceptable and may constitute an invasion, having resulted in a security threat and humanitarian disaster with overwhelming consequences to the residents of Texas.”
The county commissioners want Abbott to “take all necessary and legal steps to preserve and protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Texas.”
They also want him to “act under the constitutional authority granted to him … to immediately prevent and/or remove all persons trespassing as well as invading the sovereignty of Texas and that of the United States.”
Van Zandt County is now one of 17 commissioners’ boards and judges who have signed a similar resolution declaring that an invasion has occurred at the southern border. They all cite the border policies of the Biden administration as the reason for the huge increased levels of drug smuggling, human trafficking and illegal immigration that are happening in Texas.
The counties include Wise, Wilson, Van Zandt, Tyler, Terrell, Presidio, Parker, Orange, Live Oak, Liberty, Kinney, Johnson, Hardin, Goliad, Ellis, Edwards, Chambers and Atasoca.
